They work very well once they are attached. But it was very hard (for me) to attach it to my Encore hearing aid.
The best thing about these is obviously the price. But as someone who has been wearing a pair of Phonak $6000 hearing aids for the past 8 years, I can honestly say these are a terrific alternative. I bought two thinking that even if they were just OK they would be a good backup or good for when I want to go outside and be active and could possibly get the expensive ones wet or damaged. They exceeded all my expectations. BUT... you really need to take the time to customize them to your hearing level and ear size. They give you all the tools to do this, but it will take you a few days or weeks to figure out what works for you. I am a relatively small female, and I ended up finding that the open, small ear domes worked best for me and were most comfortable (they come with the medium, closed domes attached). I saw in a lot of other reviews that people complained about the ear domes getting lost in their ears. THIS HAPPENED WITH MY $6000 HEARING AIDS AS WELL (I had to go to urgent care one time to get one removed). You really need to make sure these things are attached well and if they start to get worn or stretched to replace them. I also found that Setting 2 and mid-volume worked well on one ear but a higher volume was needed on the other ear, which was not surprising because I know that my right ear is worse than my left. One other thing: I open the battery compartment every night after I take them out to save batteries. When you close the battery compartment the next day the aids go back to the default setting, so you have to take about 30 seconds to set them to your preferred settings again. And finally, they send a return shipping label with the aids, so they are serious about their money back guarantee. I won't be returning mine; I love them!
They sent me the new ear tube's. Mine are the old ones that you push in, not with the screw outside. I called and sent a picture but haven't heard back.
the elite is a good product. easy to use, good battery life. The only drawback is one does not know how big your ear is, so when you order you pick one tube length - short medium or long. I ordered medium and they are too short. I really need the long tube, but will have to place a separate order (and shipping) to get it.
If Otofonix put all 3 sizes in it would eliminate the guesswork and additional ordering.
(a) no relocation method (for example a signal) when mislaid
(b). Four purchased over several years, during which time two failed completely, despite thorough cleaning, and several battery changes.
(c). their performance was reasonable for the price, although the two failures doubled the overall cost. (per year)
My second pair of Otofonix. Purchased because of Bluetooth option. Would not work with my telephone, so I returned them
I've been using Encores for years and work really well for me. The only problem is they don't last too long (1- 1 1/2 years). I've had a few warranty issues, and they were replaced. Good company to deal with if you need aids.
I had before the Apex ones. But unfortunately I lost them.
Those was so good for me for this reason I wanted the same brand.
Now with my new brand Elite I'm so happy again. The regulation of the volume levels are perfects and easy. TY 💚 for your excellent technology.
the best hearing aids from Otofonics yet. better fit. improved hearing ( not complete return to complete hearing as before loss). easy management. web app very helpful and easy to use (must get new app from website-will not work with previous app). very comfortable. very good experience so far. impressive.
Doesn't give you the fingers in the ears feeling of older domes or tips.
Also eliminates most of the squealing, especially if the high sounds amplification is reduced.
I could not find much from trying the domes since I only received one dome. I ordered a set of six I thought. Please send me the rest. Thanks
Otofonix need a longer #4 sound tube for larger people.
Hearing devices with replaceable batteries are often better than rechargeable devices when there is no power outlet available.
Paying over $1,000.00 for hearing aids seems like a rip off.
Sound amplification over 4, to 6,000 seems to cause the squealing and needs to be reduced for comfort.
I love these, works as expected, but no one will tell me how to order/get longer tubes
My hearing is so much better since I switched from Hue and then Audien in-the-ear aids to Elite behind-the-ear model. The first two felt like ear plugs and fit poorly. The sound with Elite is more natural and much better.
This is my second Elite after using another brand that sounded better (with in-ear speakers) but needed more repairs than it should have. After it failed for the fifth time, I went back to the Elite while deciding if I needed higher-fi amplifiers. I am happy with its price, sensitivity and battery life but it has less frequency response and more distortion than that other brand. I guess you get what you pay for.
My dad have been using encore for last few years and we replaced it with new one after the old one broke. Despite quite a bit of tune up he is not able to hear properly. We are disappointed with this purchase
