They work very well once they are attached. But it was very hard (for me) to attach it to my Encore hearing aid.
The best thing about these is obviously the price. But as someone who has been wearing a pair of Phonak $6000 hearing aids for the past 8 years, I can honestly say these are a terrific alternative. I bought two thinking that even if they were just OK they would be a good backup or good for when I want to go outside and be active and could possibly get the expensive ones wet or damaged. They exceeded all my expectations. BUT... you really need to take the time to customize them to your hearing level and ear size. They give you all the tools to do this, but it will take you a few days or weeks to figure out what works for you. I am a relatively small female, and I ended up finding that the open, small ear domes worked best for me and were most comfortable (they come with the medium, closed domes attached). I saw in a lot of other reviews that people complained about the ear domes getting lost in their ears. THIS HAPPENED WITH MY $6000 HEARING AIDS AS WELL (I had to go to urgent care one time to get one removed). You really need to make sure these things are attached well and if they start to get worn or stretched to replace them. I also found that Setting 2 and mid-volume worked well on one ear but a higher volume was needed on the other ear, which was not surprising because I know that my right ear is worse than my left. One other thing: I open the battery compartment every night after I take them out to save batteries. When you close the battery compartment the next day the aids go back to the default setting, so you have to take about 30 seconds to set them to your preferred settings again. And finally, they send a return shipping label with the aids, so they are serious about their money back guarantee. I won't be returning mine; I love them!
Purchased the rechargeable hearing aids about three weeks ago and so the far the improved hearing has been well worth the money invested.
I had ordered batteries before from another company, but when I saw the brilliant price difference being offered by Otofonix, I ordered two boxes. Not only did they send me an extra box for free but they sent me a carrier case for my hearing aids and batteries. Super customer service!
The tubes are great and there was a couple of extra things with them. I can't say enough about the hearing aid. The clarity and longevity of them are amazing.
I've been wearing the Elite aids since shortly after the otc aids became available and was very satisfied. I needed to replace one aid due normal wear and tear and decided to upgrade instead to the Revive. While I'm very satisfied with the quality of hearing improvement over the Elite, I'm still trying to figure out Bluetooth connection issues. The ability to recharge has pro's and con's. It's convenient at home, but when traveling I will need to keep track of the charger. The charge also lasts 15-16 hours, if you don't use Bluetooth. Connecting to a phone or smart t.v. reduces it by 2-3 hours Also I've only had them for 2 weeks. If the quality and durability isn't an issue I will give them 5 stars.
These replaced older set of mine from another manufacturer, these are wa better and new too, mine was 2 years old.
The hearing amplifiers buzz when in a room with automatic lighting. And where I work the automatic lighting is in every room and hallway. It is hard to talk to anyone with buzzing going on in my hearing.
So, I tried to return them and so far have been unable to get a reply from them.
Stay away is my best advice.
I have had my Helix hearing aid for several years and they have been a great help, called to order some replacement parts and spoke with Nathan about a issue that I have had he suggested the Closed Ear Domes and they have been working Great
The closed domes provide a nice balance between transmitting sound and keeping out extraneous noise
Couldn't be more pleased, these are my second set from Otofonix and love them customer rep. Nathan was a great help when I purchased my new ones, he is very knowledgeable of the product and went over and above making my purchase experience pleasant.
I found the tube added length as well as the zip tip, got far enough into my ear so that I could hear very clearly. It was nice to have the pause feature on the battery door so that I could save battery life when I really didn’t need the extra hearing ability. It was so easy to turn on when I needed and the zip tip really worked for me. Highly recommended. The Pause function is used in this picture. I cut the extra tubing handle off of the zip tube which I felt was unnecessary. Otofonix delivered the product very promptly and I have only good things to report about the company.
After going through the simple hearing test on each ear, I set the volume at 80% first and then to 90% but even that was not as loud as my 4 yo Elite model. So I tried 100% but the feedback and screeching were too much. I will try to work with Otofonix for a solution because the management is so nice.
After fully recharging the battery in the refurbished hearing aid to where the green light came on it only lasted about 4 hours before it starting beeping so they sent me another refurbished hearing aid to replace the replacement. The 2nd one lasted about 5 hours befor it started beeping that the battery was low.
These Sona hearing aids do not amplify as well as my original Elite model from 4 years ago which I have gone back to using despite their age and wear. I went through the hearing tests and set them up with Bluetooth but even at 90% level they were not loud enough. At 100% the feedback was just too problematic so I will contact Otofonix for suggestions. I really like the company’s customer service so I want to work with them if possible.
